There are few football fans that aren’t watching when two of the big four meet in the Premiership, and this morning’s game between Arsenal and Manchester United should be no exception, as we get underway just after 03:00 EDT.

The honeymoon is over for Thierry Henry after a goal on debut in the F.A Cup was followed by coming off the bench in the Gunners’ disappointing loss at Swansea last week.

Arsenal have thrown away more points when in winning positions this season than any other team in the top flight and given their opponents today, we could easily see a come from behind victory for Sir Alex Ferguson’s men.

United rode the momentum of a buoyant victory of their rivals Manchester City in the cup to a 3-0 league win against Bolton Wanderers last time out, but a trip to London is never easy for the Red Devils.

They’ve only won once at the Emirates Stadium and twice at all Arsenal home games since the turn of the century, with a 4-2 victory at Highbury in 2004/05 and a 3-1 win a couple of seasons ago.

One could be forgiven for thinking they were watching an EPL Classic Match rather than live coverage with the return of Henry being complimented on the other sideline by the re-birth of Paul Scholes – United will certainly have missed his excellent passing and tenacity, though not so much his mistimed tackles.

If Arsenal want to keep touch with the top four, grabbing a win here is vital. They are ten points adrift of their arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur, 12 behind their opponents in this one and still five behind Chelsea, who are holding that fourth Champions League spot right now.

The last time these two sides met as we all remember, was that stunning 8-2 victory for United – and since that day, the rumblings about van Persie’s departure, Wenger’s future and a number of other factors at Arsenal Football Club have come to the fore.
