French Rugby magazine Midi Olympique is reporting that Wallaby and NSW Waratah Drew Mitchell has signed with French Top 14 side Toulon for the next two seasons, joining former teammate Matt Giteau at the club.
The 29-year old has been deep in contract negotiations with the Waratahs, with News Limited reporting within the week that Mitchell was close to signing with the NSW club.
Mitchell has 63 caps for the Wallabies.
UPDATE: French reports overnight were incorrect. Mitchell has offers from both Toulon and the Waratahs, with a top-up from the ARU. He’s expected to make a decision overnight.
