Australia's 1983 World Cup disaster: How selection ruined our chances

Liam Livingstone has smashed all batting records known to man to lead his Nantwich side to a mammoth score of 7/579 in just 45 overs in a club match in England against Caldy.
Livingstone himself smashed a handy 350* from 138 balls. Included in that knock was 34 fours and 27 sixes, making up 298 of the mammoth score. That works out at a strike rate of 254, and the red ink will certainly help his season average.
He has also played 2nd XI County cricket in the past, notching a double century for Lancashire 2nd XI last year. He also has managed a 47-ball ton against Yorkshire in a Twenty20 match.
You’d think the talent scouts will have their eyes on him for County T20 games coming up.
Here is the man himself’s summation of his performance.
“Had worse days…”
Short and sweet.
In reply, Caldy made a rather palry 9/79, leaving them 500 short of the target.
The score is sure to reignite all the old flaming debates, like whether bats are too big, bowlers are hard done by, boundaries are too short, and whether we should legalise ball tampering.
