Halep and Bondarenko have never played each other. Halep has win-loss record of 8-2 in her last 10 matches and is coming off a win over Marina Erakovic due to retirement.
Bondarenko defeated Yulia Putintseva in straight sets 6-0, 6-3 during the first round. She has a win-loss record of 8-2 in her last 10 matches.
