Want unlimited NBA coverage? This year, the 2015/16 season is set to cost NBA League Pass subscribers a hefty $399.
Over the weekend, NBA League Pass subscribers who purchased it for last season were dealt a nasty shock – the fee for the Premium version up a hefty 20% from $330 for 2014/15.
Standard membership is $330, while NBA Team Pass is ‘only’ $169.99 to watch every game of one team only.
The most popular alternative for ball is life junkies – outside of Foxtel and Foxtel Play – doesn’t come cheap.
So what’s the blame? It’s the exchange rate to an extent, with the Aussie crashing some 20c in the dollar to the equivalent time last year. And that takes a big chunk of the extra cost.
But Australia has always been given a tough deal, with only New Zealand, and Euro currency countries such as Germany and Austria costing more in previous years. The cheapest countries in the past included African nations and India.
Those without the cash may be able to wait until early 2016, when a mid-season price-drop occurs.

There are mentions of unofficial provider in Ball Streams, and possibilities of ways to buy League Pass via overseas accounts, but those methods aren’t guaranteed to work and generally aren’t recommended.
The other option is via a wagering provider. Bet365 are at least one option, and the Bet365 team have confirmed to The Roar that they’ll be streaming live matches of the 2015/16 season for members.
What do you think – will you be buying an NBA League Pass Premium subscription this season?
