Fiji have announced their team to play the Wallabies in their second Rugby World Cup match of the tournament.

After suffering a 35-11 defeat at the hands of England, Fiji have largely kept with the same bones of the team, with a few changes to the pack, which must be still recovering after a physical encounter last Saturday morning.

With a five-day turnaround, Fiji coach John McKee has opted for a new hooker, second rower and number 8, as well as making a forced change at blindside flanker, with Dominiko Waqaniburotu out of action due to suspension.

McKee said the pack he selected showed the depth in the forwards in the Fijian squad.

“I am very pleased to be able to name a very strong team for this all important match against Australia in Cardiff,” McKee said.

“Changes to the forward pack reflect the depth of strength in the squad and the different type of game (from match 1 against England) we expect against Australia.

“The team have quickly settled into our new team base in Swansea and training sessions have been short and intense over Sunday and today in preparation for Wednesday’s match,” McKee added.

In what should be another physical game for the Fijians, McKee will no doubt take heart from what he saw from his troops against England.

In particular, the scrum was very impressive led by Campese Ma’afu, brother of Wallaby Salesi Ma’afu.

He will be hoping Ben Volavola, another name that will be familiar to Aussie fans, can unleash the likes of Crusaders powerhouse Nemani Nadolo, who will line up on the wing for the Fijians.

They will be playing a near full strength Australian team, which you can read about here.
