This was a week of insane Premier League football, we saw pretty much everything from amazing volleys to embarrassing own goals to some insane assists to Sergio Aguero.

Crystal Palace 2-0 West Bromwich Albion
After a dominating first 67 minutes, Yohan Cabaye sent a cross into Yannick Bolasie who finally got off the mark in this Premier League season, scoring an easy header. Wilfried Zaha’s, following a fantastic display, beat Chris Brunt and drew the foul, winning his second penalty in two weeks. Cabaye calmly slotted it away into the top corner, and Palace were fully merited with the three points.

Aston Villa 0-1 Stoke City
It was a fairly slow game at Villa Park, where Stoke proved too strong for Villa. It was a topsy-turvy game, where Villa were actually all over Stoke but couldn’t put away any chances. The crossing stats – Villa 27 to Stoke’s eight – proved Villa’s game style of getting the ball into the big man Rudy Gestede, but unfortunately he couldn’t get his head to any of the balls in from his wingers.

Bournemouth 1-1 Watford
The absence of Callum Wilson proved costly as newly promoted Bournemouth slumped to a draw at Dean Court. The Cherries scored the first through Glenn Murray in the 28th minute, only to concede on the half-time whistle to Watford’s in-form man Odion Ighalo. Murray was then awarded a penalty in the 85th minute, but produced a poor effort and missed to lose out on the three points.

Norwich City 1-2 Leicester City
Jamie Vardy continued his terrific form in front of goal, staying top of the goalscoring with a penalty delivering his seventh of the season. Jeff Schlupp, usually a left-back, was pushed up to left midfield to accommodate Riyad Mahrez’s absence as he was rested, and made it 2-0. Norwich City’s substitute Dieumerci Mbokani came on to have an immediate influence scoring a goal, but he couldn’t peg back another. Leicester City ran out victors and moved up to fourth on the table.

Sunderland 2-2 West Ham United
The Black Cats were underdogs before the match, but after Steven Fletcher and Jeremain Lens’ goals they were anything but that. They looked like winners, but threw away a precious lead and a precious three points. West Ham’s fullback Carl Jenkinson scored a rare goal following a low cross from Victor Moses, then the Hammers’ main man Dimitri Payet scored a magnificent volley to level the scores. It was his fourth of the season.

Chelsea 1-3 Southampton
Chelsea’s poor start continued with another loss, this time to Southampton. Chelsea just couldn’t do anything right, even though they scored the first goal of the match. Jose Mourinho’s defensive tactics once again were at fault, with Southampton’s attacking prowess looking much more dangerous after Willian’s goal. Graziano Pelle has climbed to third on the goalscoring list, notching his fifth for the season, along with strikes from Sadio Mane and Steven Davis.

Manchester City 6–1 Newcastle United
Newcastle started well with new club signing Aleksandar Mitrovic scoring in the 18th minute, but when Sergio Aguero is in form, there’s no stopping him. Aguero scored five goals to push City to victory thanks to some fantastic midfield build-up play with Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva both claiming two assists each. But Aguero’s five stole the show with Kevin De Bruyne chipping in on the 54th minute with a fantastic finish.

Arsenal 3-0 Manchester United
The game of the weekend saw the Gunners put away United within the first 20 minutes. Ashley Young was placed at left back and was exploited along with Matteo Darmian. Unfortunately it wasn’t just the defenders who were struggling, with Bastian Schweinsteiger looking unfit in midfield. Mesut Ozil, who had scored and assisted within the first seven minutes, ran over the entire midfield. With performances like this United are unlikely to win the league.

Everton 1-1 Liverpool
Who would’ve thought that following this game we would be seeing the back of Brendan Rodgers? Danny Ings continued his good form with another goal since starting next to Daniel Sturridge up front, while Romelu Lukaku banged in his fifth goal for the season to level the scores.

Swansea City 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur
Swansea just can’t string together two games where they can claim three points. We all know that Christian Eriksen can be one of the best attacking midfielders in the league and he showed it in this game, scoring two classic goals. Harry Kane looked back to form but unfortunately he found the wrong net, with Andre Ayew continuing his awesome form to score his fourth of the season.
