Brisbane flyer Jordan Drew is Cronulla-bound while prop James Gavet is on the lookout for a new NRL club after the Broncos confirmed the pair’s release on Tuesday.

Both Junior Kangaroos centre Drew and Kiwi prop Gavet had a year left on their Broncos contracts.

Drew, 20, has signed a two-year deal with the Sharks.

Ex-Wests Tigers enforcer Gavet is yet to confirm his next NRL destination after seeking a release from Brisbane despite completing his recovery from a knee reconstruction that sabotaged his debut season with the Broncos.

Drew played one NRL game for Brisbane – in 2014.

The centre sparked the Broncos under 20s team to a top four season finish this year, scoring 19 tries in 22 matches.

He featured in this year’s Junior Kangaroos Test against Junior Kiwis and was named in the 2015 Holden Cup Under 20s Team of the Year.

He adds to Cronulla’s impressive off-season recruitment list that also features James Maloney, Chad Townsend and Manly forward Jesse Sene-Lafao.

Gavet, 26, played just one NRL game for Brisbane before suffering a serious knee injury at training.

He featured in Brisbane’s Auckland Nines campaign and came off the bench against Wigan in February’s World Club Series win.
