Roger Federer will be hoping to make light work of Marcus Willis when the two meet in tonight’s second round. Join The Roar for live scores of the match from 1:30am (AEST).

Coming off of his recent back injury, which kept him out of the French Open, Federer is keen to make amends.

The Swiss sits comfortably atop the leaderboard of Grand Slam titles (17), however Novak Djokovic looms large and a chance to potentially add some more cushion to the lead wouldn’t go astray.

History also beckons for Federer here at Wimbledon, another title here and he’ll surpass Pete Sampras and become the only player to win eight titles at the All England Club.

Willis will have his hands full against the greatest tennis player of all time, but with nothing to lose he should throw all caution to the wind and come out guns blazing.

Currently ranked No.772 in the world, Willis would shock the world if he were to walk away with victory.

By making it to the second round, Willis has made more than half of his career earnings before he even steps out onto the court. Federer, on the other hand, is looking to become the first tennis player to crack the $100 million mark (a feat he could achieve if he wins it all).

It truly is the tale of David and Goliath on Centre Court tonight, let’s not forget how that tale finished up though.

Prediction
It’s hard not to root for the underdog and I’ll be right behind Willis, however Federer is rested after missing Roland Garros, and he has that look in his eye again. Should be nice and easy.

Roger Federer in straight sets. (6-4, 7-5, 6-3)
