In-form Slovak Dominika Cibulkova has had a stellar start to the tournament after enduring a three set-thriller against world No.3 Agnieszka Radwanska.

Cibulkova pushed through to her second quarter-finals appearance at Wimbledon having previously progressed in 2011.

It was her ninth win in a row as she continues her strong charge, having knocked over Mirjana Lucic-Baroni, Australian Daria Gavrilova and Eugenie Bouchard on her way to booking a meeting with Russian Elena Vesnina.

Prior to her meeting with Radwanska she hadn’t dropped a set, having found form at the right time.

In the lead-up to Wimbledon, she made an appearance at Eastbourne defeating the likes of Agnieszka Radwanska and Monica Puig to go through to the final where she defeated Karolina Pliskova 7-5, 6-3 to claim her second title of the year.

She takes on Elena Vesnina who has also had a strong run in the lead-up to Wimbledon.

The Russian world No.50 made it to the quarterfinals at Eastbourne before bombing out 6-1, 6-3 at the hands of Karolina Pliskova.

She endured a tough fourth round matchup against Ekaterina Makarova going through in three sets 5-7, 6-1, 9-7.

Vesnina has never played in a quarterfinal during a grand slam singles draw which will provide a new challenge for her.

She must use her power to dominate Cibulkova and wear out the Slovak if she is to be a chance at going through to the semis.

The pair have played each other six times winning three matches apiece.

Their most recent outing came at Moscow in 2015 when Cibulkova came away with a 7-5, 6-1 victory in the first round. It was their first meeting since 2011.

Only one clash has come between the two on grass when Vesnina defeated Cibulkova 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 during the third round of Wimbledon back in 2009.

The winner will progress to the semi-finals where they will take on either world No.1 Serena Williams or Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
