Host nation Brazil will be looking to book a place in the gold medal match of the 2016 Rio Olympics when they take on Honduras. Join The Roar from 2am AEST for live scores and commentary.

Brazil have been on fire in the men’s football tournament to date, finally looking like they have regained that form that saw them dominate the international game for so many years.

After being held to nil-all draws with South Africa and Iraq in the group standings, a 4-nil thrashing of Denmark put the host side on top of the table.

Now, coming off a huge quarter-final win over fellow South American rivals Columbia, Brazil are just two games away from Olympic gold.

Neymar was the star in the 2-nil win over the Columbia, scoring a screamer of a free kick to add to his goal tally.

Honduras have exceeded all expectations this Olympics, and are now two more wins away from realising their Olympic dreams.

After being drawn in a group with Portugal and Argentina, Honduras was not expected to progress past the group stage, let alone make the semi-finals.

Coming off a 1-nil win over South Korea in the quarter-finals, a win over Brazil would guarantee the first ever Olympic medal for Honduras, with a loss seeing them have to fight for bronze.

Alberth Elis found the net for the Hondurans against South Korea against the run of play, as they held on for the win.

Everything points to this being an absolutely thrilling game, with the added spice of the underdog story of Honduras.

Prediction
Brazil have the players, and have been playing a very good tactical game. They are also much more clinical in front of goal. Expect Brazil to make the final in front of a partisan home crowd.

Brazil 2-0 Honduras
