The Perth Glory will host the Wellington Phoenix during their Round 2 A-League match-up. Be sure to join us at The Roar from 7pm (AEDT) for our live scores and blog.

The final match of Round 2 pits two first-up losers against each other. They will both be hoping for a win to jump-start their seasons.

After going 3-0 up against the Mariners last week, it seemed Perth were all set for a glorious start to their season.

Unfortunately for them, a second-half Central Coast comeback meant they had to settle for a 3-3 draw at full time. Despite the disappointing second half, the Glory could take positives from a lethal first 45 minutes. Adam Taggart marked his A-League return with a brace while Diego Castro proved he’s lost none of his edge by tucking home a penalty.

For the Phoenix, the positives were few and far between last week as they fell 1-0 to a ten-man Melbourne City side at home. Unable to take advantage of Thomas Sorensen’s sending off early in the second half, the ‘Nix fell flat in attack managing just one shot on target.

Having formed what looks to be a pretty competitive team on paper, Wellington will be hoping to move on from last week’s effort and prove their worth against the Glory this evening.

Perth field a similar squad to last week with the only changes coming in the form of promoted pair Joe Mills and Mitch Oxborrow.

The Phoenix, on the other hand, are shaping up quite differently to last week with Kosta Barbarouses, Matthew Ridenton, Andrew Durante and Micheal McGlinchey all returning to the squad following international duty while Tom Doyle returns from injury. As a result, Dylan Fox, Logan Rogerson and Jack-Henry Sinclair are all omitted.

Prediction
Perth is a tough place to travel to and the Glory will be smarting from letting a huge lead go to waste against the Mariners. The Glory will get the job done at home and Taggart could well collect another brace in this fixture.

Perth 3-1.
