Neil Davis writes: Check this story from Stuff.co.nz. Am I the only one who thinks that Graham Henry’s rotation policy for the All Blacks is seriously cheapening the great tradition of New Zealand rugby and the hard fought battle it has always been to earn a jumper? Sure they’re playing more rugby these days. But why does that mean that the elite players can’t back up week in week out. The NRL guys do it. Is it producing better rugby? I doubt it. Is it producing better players? I would suggest not, especially given the predominance of past players in ‘best ever’ teams selected by fellow Roar readers. Is it prolonging player’s careers? Without a doubt. But what greater purpose does that serve the good of game as a spectacle, and one for which fans are shelling out hard earned money to watch.
