Australian allrounder Andrew Symonds will line up for the Queensland Bulls on Sunday and take the next step towards returning to top-flight cricket.
Symonds has been named to play in Sunday’s Twenty20 double-header between the Bulls and Indian Premier League (IPL) side Kolkata Knight Riders at Allan Border Field.
The wayward Queenslander, who was dumped from the Australian team for skipping a team meeting to go fishing in Darwin last month, played with his club side the Gold Coast Dolphins last week.
Symonds was not selected for Australia’s upcoming Test tour of India.
The allrounder faced the Knight Riders earlier this year as a member of the Deccan Chargers in the IPL.
