Bosnich expects to be fit for farewell game

Central Coast goalkeeper Mark Bosnich is expected to be fit for the final match of his short term contract with the A-League club.

It was initially feared Bosnich’s stint with the Mariners was over after the former Aston Villa custodian sustained a hamstring injury at the start of his side’s 4-1 win over Perth on Friday.

But Bosnich said the news from doctors was positive, indicating he had strained his hamstring muscle, not torn it.

He expected to be available for the match against Wellington in a fortnight, his last scheduled game in the seven week contract with the Mariners.

“It seems to be all fine, the doctors have still to discuss it with the club doctor but their initial reading is good news,” Bosnich told News Limited newspapers.

“While Friday is a bit soon, I should be fit to face Wellington after that,” he said.

Bosnich is still weighing up his options about what do when his short term deal concludes but will struggle to get another A-League contract and unless another `keeper gets injured.
