Harry Kewell’s productive start with Galatasaray continues after he scored again in a 3-1 win over Gaziantepspor in a Turkish league match today.

Kewell bagged his sixth goal from 11 matches for his new club when he grabbed the opener in the 10th minute before being replaced in the 63rd minmue.

The latest goal came just days after it was revealed the Socceroos star has suffered from autoimmune hepatitis – a non-infectious and controllable condition – for much of his career.

Compatriot Bruce Djite also scored a goal in Turkey today but it was not enough to stop Genclerbirligi from losing 2-1 to Antalyaspor.

Djite found the net shortly after half-time with his team 2-0 down but the home side failed to rally.

In Italy’s Serie A, Palermo held on to comfortably beat Chievo Verona 3-0 after being reduced to 10 men when Australian midfielder Mark Bresciano was sent off in the 48th minute.

All three of the home team’s goals came in the first half, before Bresciano committed his second bookable offence.

Fabrizio Miccoli opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 23rd minute and Simon Kjaer added a second in the 37th minute before Edison Cavani’s goal on the stroke of half-time.

Shortly after the re-start, Bresciano brought down Simone Bentivoglio to earn his second yellow card and exit the game.

Palermo have been frustrated recently, taking just one point from their previous three games, but today’s result moved them up to ninth place.

Meanwhile, Celtic scored twice in the first 20 minutes to regain the lead in the Scottish Premier League with a 2-0 win at Hearts.

Shaun Maloney and Gary Caldwell hit the goals that took defending champions three points clear of Glasgow rivals Rangers, who beat Inverness Caledonian Thistle 5-0 on Saturday.

Hearts played the last 39 minutes with 10 men after Marius Zaliukas was sent off for fouling Socceroos striker Scott McDonald and denying him a clear scoring opportunity.

McDonald’s teammate Paul Hartley sent the resulting penalty kick wide.
