John Daly is no advertisement for Australian tourism. Missing the cut at his first two tournaments at Huntingdale and Coolum have given him plenty of spare time. So how has he spent his three weeks in the wide, brown land? Cuddling koalas, gawping at the Opera House?

No. He’s been watching videos and eating junk food.

Along with his golf clubs, Daly packed 150 DVDs for his three-week trip Down Under, and he has watched all but five of them.

The rest of the time he has spent in fast food restaurants.

Oh, and he also went out with Casino owner and friend Lloyd Williams a couple of times – to a steak house near Huntingdale.

Apart from that?

“Nothing man – I’ve just watch movies”.

“You’ve got McDonalds, you’ve got KFC, you’ve got Pizza Hut, you’ve got all the good stuff we have at home.

“I’ve done nothing. I haven’t gone out.

“I enjoy the movies. I bring a bunch over and watch a lot of movies.”
“I brought like 150 of them over and I’m down to my last five.”
Just as well he likes action films. The closest he’s got to adventure tourism are his regular trips to the rough.
