Bullish New Zealand coach Andy Moles has urged his troops to whitewash Australia before Sunday’s crunch one-day clash at the SCG.

Leading 2-0 in the five-match series, the Englishman says his men are determined to finish off the job against the home side in the coming week.

“We want to win 3-0, then 4-0 and then 5-0,” said Moles.

“We will take every game as it comes, we are really focused on the next game and the boys were very determined after the game last night.

“They realise they are on the verge of doing something special in coming across and winning a one-day series in Australia and they want to be part of that.”

Speaking before Australian skipper Ricky Ponting’s early return had been confirmed, Moles expected the home side to put up a better showing than in the last two matches.

“We are delighted to be 2-0 up but we know the Australian side are a very proud team and they are going to come back at us hard,” he said.

“But we have the momentum at the moment and we intend to keep that.”

Moles said that key batsmen Ross Taylor and Brendon McCullum were both fit to play in Sydney despite injury concerns coming out of Friday night’s clash in Melbourne.

The final two matches of the series are to be held in Adelaide (Tuesday) and Brisbane (Friday).
