North Queensland coach Ian Ferguson expects newly-signed Socceroo defender Shane Stefanutto to have an immediate impact when he makes his A-League debut this Saturday.
The Fury confirmed on Tuesday they’ve signed left back Stefanutto for the next three years and they are ready to start him in the clash with fellow league newcomer Gold Coast at Skilled Park in four days.
Ferguson said he rated Stefanutto’s ability to turn defence into attack.
“Shane is the type of player who will play directly and move things forward rather than taking the momentum out of the game,” he said.
“Shane’s a Socceroo, and it’s fantastic that the club has been able to attract him.
“He’ll provide some depth and stability at the back.
“He brings experience from playing overseas in a high level of competition.”
