Greg Growden writing in the Herald earlier this week, correctly identified the woeful errors in player selection of the Wallabies for the Subiaco debacle. By Wednesday, Growden’s recommendations were vindicated when the team for Brisbane was announced.

But no mention was made of Robbie Deans and whoever else is involved in player selection.

They have consistently got it wrong.

Australia is teeming with talent. Ask any follower of Super 14 or Club Rugby in Sydney or Brisbane. Ask Spiro Zavos. They could name countless players who would easily qualify for consideration.

So why on earth are Deans and company making such as hash of it? The selection committee has to be made accountable. They are doing Australian rugby a great disservice.

I call upon Greg Growden, Spiro Zavos and Rupert Guinness to start a campaign to put this issue right.
