Australian rugby legend George Smith and New Zealand scrum-half Byron Kelleher are among the stars who will play for the Barbarians in their upcoming fixtures against England and Ireland.

The Baa-Baas will face England at Twickenham on Sunday week before travelling to face Ireland at Thomond Park on June 4.

Toulouse’s Jean-Baptiste Elissalde, Australian fly-half Brock James, Martyn Williams of Wales, Ireland’s Alan Quinlan and New Zealand No.8 Xavier Rush are also available to coaches Philippe Saint-Andre and Kingsley Jones.

Argentina’s Rodrigo Roncero, Springbok Jannie du Plessis and David Barnes provide formidable selection options in the front row.

There is also plenty of strike power, with Paul Sackey, Clermont Auvergne’s Napolioni Nalaga and Toulouse centre Florian Fritz confirmed as three-quarter options.

Barbarians president Micky Steele-Bodger said, “It is one of the delights of our tours that so many players from so many different backgrounds readily accept our invitations to return or, indeed, make their first appearances for the Barbarians.

“We have a particularly tough tour this year, with both England and Ireland likely to be at full strength ahead of their own test matches in the southern hemisphere. We are confident that we will again meet the challenge in the best spirit and traditions of the Barbarians.”
