Will this transfer of players become more commonplace?

Israel Folau defects to AFL and there’s no tears, no screaming rejection of poaching and turncoats, traitors and ‘they was failures’, and cashed up codes climbing on League’s shoulders. What is going on?

Or does it take a while before the leaguies realise what is happening? Is there only an ex-coach of the Fibros left to defend your honour – Raudonikis?

Or is there a curious grown-up adult flavour happening here? Is interchangeability commonplace?

Can a player move between the codes without the rancour of the past? Do the different codes offer a range of challenges to our athletes which they can accept or deny for themselves? Are these young men allowed to maximise their earnings whilst in the prime of their athleticism?

True? Wow!

That is welcome news to the bulk of us who love sport for the goosebump moments, that individual display of brilliance where you witness an individual doing something that will not occur for another millennia: such as a pass delivered .001 seconds before he impacts with the ground that puts another into space; the spotting of a gap at the 15th minute that will not occur until the 60th minute, and the slow development of a state of fatigue in the opponent, which will later allow the burst, the break, and the points.

If true, boys, may I now welcome you to the WIDE world of sports.
