Storm continue devil's dance to keep Big Four

The NRL should be absolutely fuming about the mini-exodus of Melbourne Storm players to England. Some of the brightest stars of the NRL are bound for dreary England, as the fallout of the Melbourne Storm salary cap drama continues.

In a major blow for the NRL, Ryan Hoffman, Jeff Lima and the uncontracted Brett Finch have all officially signed deals with Superleague club Wigan.

Melbourne winger Anthony Quinn is also tipped to make the move to England.

While the Storm work tirelessly to protect their ‘Big Four’, less valued players are being forced to walk away, not only from the embattled club, but also from the league entirely. It’s a huge price to pay

Apparently, if your surname isn’t Smith, Cronk, Slater or Inglis, you’re of no use to the Storm.

The club will fight tooth and nail to keep their four superstars, but morally, should the Storm be able to continue a relationship with any of their players employed under dodgy contracts?

In my opinion, the Storm should no longer be allowed to bring the game into further disrepute. Why should the club be allowed to cling so tightly to their prized possessions at the expense of the NRL?

I am utterly shattered to see names like Hoffman and Lima, Finch and Quinn disappear from our game because of a cheating clubs’ selfish stubbornness.
