Come 3pm Sunday, at the historical ground of Rugby League, St George Illawarra Dragons will take on the Sydney Roosters – not for a premiership, but for the winner some early bragging rights over their Sydney neighbour.

The Dragons are coming off two losses on the trot and a rusty three point win over South Sydney. While the Roosters are coming off three high scoring wins, albeit against teams that are in and around the Top 8.

During the Dragons’ last two losses, and even in their win against the Bunnies, they looked to struggle for point scoring options. Dragons fans are hoping that deja vu will not strike again, like it did towards the end of the 2009 season.

The Roosters, on the other hand, have been playing high scoring thrillers.

Never mind what Wayne Bennett says: the Dragons already are a desperate team, while the Roosters are on the verge of a Bulldogs of 2009 – finishing down the bottom of the ladder to fight back the next year with a chance to go all the way.

So we have a Sunday afternoon at the Cricket Ground, with a huge crowd expected. Lock your doors, turn off the phone, and book a date with the couch, as this will be one game you don’t want to miss.
