After this Saturday night’s Bledisloe Cup/Tri Nations match against the All Blacks, and also the Wallabies Spring Tour of Europe, thoughts now turn to the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
Even though the RWC is still 12 months away, Robbie Deans and his co-selectors will use the Bledisloe Cup/Spring Tour of Europe as ‘selection trials’ for potential Wallabies hoping to make it into the RWC squad.
The problem for Deans is that the Wallabies haven’t played all that well in 2010, not witstanding Australia’s amazing back-from-the-dead win in South Africa. Add the problem of not winning in New Zealand, with the Wallabies last win on Kiwi turf back in 2001.
