The Olyroos have finished their under-23 Four Nations Tournament in Hanoi with a 0-0 draw against Kuwait on Friday.

Olyroos head coach Aurelio Vidmar took the opportunity to hand international debuts to goalkeeper Jerrad Tyson and defender Matthew Foschini in the Australians’ third match of the tournament.

After a loss to North Korea in their opener and then a 2-0 win over Vietnam, the Olyroos finish the competition with a win, a draw and a loss.

Vidmar said he was frustrated by his team’s inability to turn dominance into goals against the Kuwaitis but he’d been pleased by the overall performance in the tournament.

“Overall, considering this is the first time we have been together as a group, it has been a very successful ten days with plenty of positives that will lead us into our preparation for next year’s qualifiers for the London 2012 Olympic games,” Vidmar said.

North Korea were crowned the eventual winners of the tournament after a 0-0 draw with the host nation confirmed their position at the top of the table on seven points.

Vietnam and Australia finished equal on four points, with Vietnam ahead on goal difference, and Kuwait took one point from their matches.
