Superstar David Beckham says he’s as driven as ever and has no plans for retirement after his deal expires with LA Galaxy next season.

At 35, Beckham acknowledges he’s no spring chicken anymore having endured a frustrating year soured by an Achilles injury that crushed his World Cup dreams.

But the former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder revealed after the MLS side’s 2-1 loss to Newcastle Jets on Saturday he’s still hungry for success.

“I love success, I love playing in successful teams, good teams with good players,” Beckham said.

“I’ve been lucky enough to have done that through my whole career.

“The premierships I’ve won, the Champions League, FA Cups or La Liga, I want to win things and want to be successful.

“So that’s why I’m playing in America, and I’ve just been lucky throughout my career to have played with some of the best.”

Beckham understandably gets quizzed about his playing future wherever he goes.

During his trip to Australia, he was typically diplomatic, refusing to rule out playing in the A-League one day and saying he was “flattered” by reports Everton manager David Moyes had offered a loan stint with the English Premier League club.

But he made clear he had no intentions of hanging up the boots just yet.

“Right now I’ve got a year left with the Galaxy, I’m fully committed to the them as a team and a franchise, I’ve enjoyed my time there,” Beckham said.

“I’m 35 now and I’ve got another season left (on contract), but I’m not ready to finish playing yet so for the future, who knows.”

Beckham is England’s most capped outfield player with 115 caps and is only 10 caps short of goalkeeper Peter Shilton’s overall record.

He has not played for England since before the World Cup and a recall would appear unlikely, unless he secures a move to a European side.

Having charmed Australia for the second time following his successful visit in 2007, Beckham on Sunday was bound for Zurich to put his weight behind England’s bid for the 2018 World Cup.

With hosts for 2018 and 2022 to be decided this week, Beckham said he thought both Australia and the US were capable of hosting `22.

“Without doubt (Australia) could do that but I’m living in the US so I think the US would be also amazing at hosting a World Cup again,” he said.
