Wayne Bennett will announce on Wednesday he will leave St George Illawarra at the end of the 2011 NRL season, according to reports.
Bennett is expected to hold a press conference at midday, where the Illawarra Mercury reports he will confirm his departure at the end of the season.
Bennett is believed to have informed Dragons chief executive Peter Doust of his decision, and is expected to endorse assistant coach Steve Price as the man to fill his position next year.
The seven-time premiership winning coach remains in a tug-of-war between Newcastle and his former club, Brisbane, for his services for 2012 and beyond.
