I love going to live sport, as much for the occasion and atmosphere as for the action on the field of play. You tend to see some funny things at games too, fancy dress, amusing banners, sometimes even celebrities.

However. Never in my life have I seen a coffin.

You see when a gang member in Colombia was shot dead, his mates saw fit to take him to a final game, and so they did. Into a 45,000 strong crowd to watch a one all draw between Cucuta Deportivo and Envigado.

It got me thinking, what strange things have you found or seen at a football ground, here’s my best (and worst) to get you started.

• Officials at Aston Villa’s English Premier League ground Villa Park got a shock, when they found a homeless man using the huge stadium as his home. He’d set up camp underneath the main stand, and they didn’t even notice when his 50 thousand friends popped round to see him on a Saturday afternoon!

• Over in the U S of A, the football can’t have been too entertaining at the home of the Buffalo Bills, Ralph Wilson Stadium. A couple sneaked off and were subsequently caught, errrrm, how shall I say this, scoring a touchdown with each other? They denied it, but nine months later, the happy couple introduced the world to their new son, Ralph Wilson.

• Inter Milan’s hooligans are obviously very rich, or can get their hands on things very quickly, because during one of their games. They saw fit to take a moped into the San Siro and throw it from the stands. You don’t believe me? Take a look for yourself!!!

• There is of course the very famous incident involving some wildlife at the Sydney cricket ground, when the TV commentary proclaimed “There’s a pig at full forward”. The cheeky fan had sprayed Tony Lockett’s name and number on it to have a crack at the Swans player’s build…. All good and well, but Plugger was out injured that day!

So let’s hear it then, what have you seen or found at a football ground.

Before you say it, yes I know I’m English, so I won’t be surprised when you comment “For most of the 90’s I saw some people pretending to be English cricketers at the SCG, MCG, Gabba, WACA etc etc”.
