Boomers point guard Patrick Mills carried the Melbourne Tigers to an 82-76 win over the Sydney Kings on Friday night, making history as the first current NBA player to play in the NBL.

In a spirited fourth-quarter comeback, Mills (28 points) and Ayinde Ubaka (22 points) rained clutch triples to put away the Kings, who led by as many as 14 points late in the third quarter.

Down 70-62 with 4mins 30sec to play, a Cameron Tragardh (14 points, 9 rebounds) put-back followed by an Ubaka lay-up began an onslaught that reclaimed the lead with a little over a minute remaining.

Mills, who has played with the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA since 2009, signed with the Tigers due to the current NBA lockout.

Julian Khazzouh top-scored for the Kings with 18 points and 14 rebounds.
