Milwaukee’s Australian centre Andrew Bogut was fouled out in his NBA side’s tense 98-95 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Bucks recorded their first win of the lockout-shortened season in dramatic fashion, with rookie Jon Leuer converting a three-point play with 1:17 left in the final quarter.

Bogut was fouled out with 2:08 left in the game.

He finished with 15 points and nine rebounds, but was upstaged by his understudy Leuer.

Leuer, the second-round pick out of Wisconsin, finished the game with 14 points on five for seven shooting and had eight rebounds.

Bogut joked that he might start losing some minutes.

“It’s good to have not only a rookie, but a centre who can back me up and we don’t lose too much,” Bogut said.

“He shoots the ball very well, he’s very efficient offensively. Defensively, he’s always in the right spots.”
