Manchester fairytales and machinations

Now that the blue half of Manchester has cleaned up the mess in their undergarments from their 3-2 get-out-of-jail-free win, they will sit and think about their club and what happens to it from here.

In many Manchester minds, the blue ones that is, they will think “God, we’ve won the title, we’ve climbed Mt Everest… we can do anything”.

But their Indian billionaire owners and Mr Robert Mancini, he of the headless-chook run around the city of Manchester Stadium, know full well that they have two key problems.

Carlos Tevez and Marco Balotelli are basket cases and are long term hindrances to a smooth transition into championship winning form.

Tevez is the most disruptive force to ever hit English football because he almost brought down the number one principle of the Laws of the English game, on three occasion with three different clubs.

“Thou shalt play for the manager when you are told or thou shalt be left on the bench to ponder your long term, or much shorter termm future.”

If players all over England took umbrance at being left out of the starting line-up in what is now a squad game, the whole league would collapse.

Balotelli is quite simply a nut case. This guy would just as soon stick his studs in someone’s knee as walk down the street.

How Mancini can look himself and them in the face and keep them on the payroll is beyond me.

But this is the world of Manchester City fairytales, and Mancini is living the dream.

I’ve got a feeling that the other billionaire’s row clubs will not take this City title lightly.

You can see Fergie chewing a hole in his Wrigleys right now.

The EPL and City will trade on this not-inconsiderable feat and will think they have the world at their feet.

In fact all they have done is create another greedy monster and set it loose in the kitchen of English soccer.

If City, United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal and Newcastle don’t figure in the top six next year, it will only be because some billionaire slips in to Liverpool, bringing truckloads of players and money.

The rest can play for the scraps.
