Week 13 of the Super Rugby sees the newly firing Queensland Reds take on the bottom-placed Lions of Johannesburg at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. We’ll have live commentary from 7.40pm AEST.

The Reds are coming off a thrilling 42-27 demolition of the Waikato Chiefs in Brisbane last weekend, which saw Wallabies star halfback Will Genia play his best football of the year.

As if this task were not already daunting enough for the lacklustre Lions, this week sees the return of the electric Quade Cooper.

Back earlier than expected from a knee injury, Cooper brings flair and skill in abundance to the already stacked Queensland attack.

The Lions, on the other hand, are on a nine-game losing steak which continued when they were handed a 26-3 defeat by the Auckland Blues last week.

Though the Reds come into this game as firm favourites they have bizarrely not beaten the Lions at Suncorp since 2005, with the South African side winning there in both 2007 and 2009.

The Lions also bring their own highly touted excitement machine at flyhalf in young Elton Jantjies.

Jantjies is being coached by none other than former All Black Carlos Spencer, so expect both sides to be airing the ball out. The Lions, however, will probably do so in a more desperate fashion.

Rugby fans, prepare for what could well be a mouth-watering display of attacking rugby this weekend at Suncorp.

The Reds have all but guaranteed a four-try bonus point and a big win in front of the Brisbane faithful.
