It’s a battle of top four opponents as the Brisbane Broncos host the South Sydney Rabbitohs live from Suncorp Stadium. Join us for live NRL scores and updates from 7:30pm AEST.

Brisbane have had the wood on the Bunnies for most of their existence, winning 20 of the 26 encounters between the two, including a 20-12 win in Perth earlier this season.

In saying that, the last time the two sides met on a Friday night at Suncorp, the Rabbitohs were absolutely rampant, winning 44-10 way back in the 2009 season.

The Rabbitohs have been hot in recent weeks, winning seven of their last nine games – Unfortunately for the visitors six of those were at ANZ Stadium and the other also took place in Sydney (a round 11 victory over the Dragons at Kogarah). In fact, in two of their three wins this year away from their Homebush bunker, golden point was required to get them over the line.

Look for Souths to charge out of the blocks, as they lead the league in points scored in the opening quarters of matches.

With State of Origin selection just around the corner, expect massive games from both Dave Taylor and Greg Inglis – it’s very interesting that the same ground that will be cheering their lungs out for the Rabbitohs pair in two weeks’ time will be booing their every touch tonight.

The Broncos will no doubt be fired up for Petero Civoniceva’s 300th first grade appearance, making his debut for Brisbane all the way back in 1998. Funnily enough, his 200th match was also against the boys from Redfern, an 8-4 arm wrestle back in 2007.

Let’s hope tonight’s game is more enthralling. Join us just before kick-off for any last minute team changes and news.
