Former Socceroos striker Ante Milicic is one of three additions to the coaching staff of the Western Sydney Wanderers.

The A-League’s new club announced Milicic as an assistant coach to Tony Popovic on Wednesday, with Ron Corry named as goalkeeping coach and Trevor Morgan to take over the reins of the youth league team.

FFA hoping Wanderers unite football’s history with its future

Milicic, who played for several National Soccer League clubs as well as the Queensland Roar and Newcastle Jets in the A-League, joins the Wanderers after spending the past two seasons as an assistant manager of the Melbourne Heart.

Wanderers chairman Lyall Gorman said the coaching appointments were an exciting step for the club.

“To have this calibre of coaches joining us at Wanderers FC provides a great foundation for the playing group,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

“Not only are these appointments some of the best football coaches this country has to offer, they all truly understand the DNA and culture of Western Sydney.”

The Wanderers have also announced former Jets chief executive John Tsatsimas will be the club’s general manager of football operations.
