The Olympics starts in London this week on Friday. Over the next 2 weeks there will be a lot of excitement, nerves, tension, heartbreak, happiness.

A roller coaster of human emotions will be on show at the olympics these next 2 weeks. It will be exciting. But I have many Olympic memories so many hard to remember all of them. Here are a few of mine. That stand out as the pinnacle ones.

Usain Bolt’s Olympic and world record at Beijing 2008 was amazing he shattered the mens 100m world record. It almost defied belief 9.69 seconds. Wow that is lightning fast. Micheal Johnson at Atlanta was very special too the 200m and 400m gold medal double. Cathy Freeman of course at Sydney in the woman’s 400m athletics. Ian Thorpe winning the 400m freestyle at Sydney, and riding home the 100metre 4X100m relay team, beating Gary Hall Junior to the post.

And the Dream team USA were amazing too in Barcelona 92. What a talented team take your pick from Micheal Jordan to Majic johnson to Larry Bird.

Sergi Bubka maybe the greatest ever sports star won an Olympic gold medal in the pole vault at 1988 breaking the world record. He could of won more gold’s but didn’t always produce his best at the Olympics for one reason or another.

Debbie Flintoff king was always inspiring winning the 400m hurdles in 1988.

And the hockeyroos, winning too many gold medals, too steven Redgrave going to 5 olympic games and picking up 5 golds along the way. And I am sure there are many many more Olympic games memories that will live on forever.

From Eric the Eagle to Micheal Jordan , they maybe in different sporting levels but it is about participating and trying to be the best athlete you can be. Olympic games chokes are often just as exciting as the Olympic gold wins by the favourites, as are the stories of wild partying that goes on at the Olympic games and sensational stories that you can’t believe happens but can only imagine.
