Brisbane Roar will look to make Ange Postecoglou’s return to Suncorp Stadium a losing one when they host the Melbourne Victory at Suncorp Stadium on tonight. We’ll have live scores and commentary from 7.45pm AEST.

Both sides come into the game after losses last weeekend to Perth Glory and Melbourne Heart respectively.

A rivalry between these two has been brewing over the last couple of seasons and I cannot wait for this latest instalment.

The last meeting between the two was on Feb saw the Roar 3-2 winners over the Navy Blues. To just remind you how far away that was: Harry Kewell scored both of Victory’s goals that day.

It is hard to get a read on both sides right now, considering both have only played one game.

What was clear last weekend, however, is that Victory are going to take some time to play that way it never has before. That’ll be intriguing, to see how the Victory go against the champions.

Brisbane got started last weekend in a tight game and was two minutes away from a point at Perth, and they should pick up their opening points here.

Injuries and international breaks will impact this game. Socceroos and All Whites duty will leave the Victory without trio Archie Thompson, Mark Milligan and Marco Rojas.

Ivan Franjic and Henrique missed last week, but Franjic will start his season this weekend while there are doubts on Henrique.

Adding extra incentive, apart from the need to get the points on the board, the Roar will be keen to get one over Ange.

Victory, on the other hand, will be looking to avenge their derby performance and continue to develop the high passing/pressing game that was on show in parts last Friday. It promises to be a cracker, follow it all right here on The Roar from 7.45pm AEDT.
