Round 11 of the A-League comes to an end this afternoon when second-placed Adelaide United host Wellington Phoenix at Hindmarsh Stadium. We’ll have live scores from 5.00pm AEDT.

The Phoenix were stunned last week by a Sydney FC team that had previously never beaten Wellington at Westpac Stadium, with the home side succumbing to a 2-1 defeat.

Adelaide took care of Melbourne Victory in a high-scoring affair last Friday night in one of the best games of the season so far, with a first-half frenzy ensuring a 4-2 win.

A draw would be enough for the visiting Nix to squeeze their way back into the top six, whereas the Reds would draw within a point of top side Central Coast Mariners if they were to get the win here.

The main talking point will be the re-ignition of the Jeronimo controversy, as it was Wellington defender Ben Sigmund who was given his marching orders on the back of the Brazilian’s deceptive tumble under no contact at all when the two sides first met.

This incident will no doubt still be fresh in the minds of all the Phoenix players, especially Sigmund.

Evan Kostopoulos and Fábio Ferreira were both outstanding last week and will look to replicate that form here. Captain and keeper Eugene Galekovic also returns, after being away for international duty last week.

Difficult to see anything but a home win here, but this is the A-League. We’ll hopefully see a Sigmund/Jeronimo confrontation at some point too, should the Argentine be recalled into the side.
