In the wake of Premier League champions Manchester United announcing Sir Alex Ferguson calling time on the most successful managerial reign in English football, the question is how will David Moyes be able to follow in the footsteps of a legend?
Despite Ferguson’s resignation as manager, he will remain at the club as a director and Sir Alex recommended to the club’s hierarchy his fellow Scot Moyes should succeed him at Old Trafford.
Due to this advice, Moyes is set to be Manchester United manager next season.
Although Moyes’ lack of Champions League experience has been raised, United are confident the 50-year-old will thrive among Europe’s elite.
Ferguson, who is now 71, has guided United to 13 Premier League titles, including this season, and two Champions League crowns.
Sir Alex said at his farewell press conference, “To the fans, thank you. The support you have provided over the years has been truly humbling.”
This shows, despite his success, he is still so humble, which is why he is in so many people’s hearts.

Sir Alex Ferguson will definitely go down in the history books. It has been an amazing 26 years for Man United and now it is Moyes turn to write the next chapter.
