Manchester United win in convincing fashion over All-Stars

Just over 83,000 fans turned up to see Manchester United demolish the A-League All-Stars in convincing fashion.

United controlled most of the possession in the first half and was leading at half time 2-0.

The first goal came in the 10th minute when Ryan Giggs produced a great pass to Danny Welbeck, who smartly let the ball through his legs so that Jesse Lingard could run onto the ball.

After a couple of touches Lingard neatly finessed the ball past the keeper.

The second of Manchester United’s first-half goals came in the 33rd minute when Danny Welbeck found himself onside from a pass from Ryan Giggs.

Welbeck then swung onto his lethal right boot and easily flicked the ball past the goalkeeper into the bottom-left corner.

The one real chance the A-League All-Stars had in the first half was from a Thomas Broich shot that just skimmed over the crossbar.

After a minute of extra time both teams walked back to the rooms with the scores at 2-0.

The second half started off well for the A-League All-Stars as they managed to create a chance in the 51st minute, and Besart Berisha capitalised.

A brilliant pass from Thomas Broich found Berisha, who turned wonderfully and took a near-post shot.Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard was in a bad position and the ball rolled into the back of the net.

Manchester United’s third goal came in the 54th minute when a brilliant shot from Lingard found the back of the net.

Lingard recieved the ball just outside of the box and dribbled into the box before taking a shot witch sizzled into the top right corner leaving the goalkeeper and crowd stunned.

Much to the crowd’s delight, in the 61st minute David Moyes finally decided that it was time for Robin Van Persie to come on.

Ryan Giggs was the man to come off and he received a standing ovation from the crowd.

United’s fourth goal came in the 69th minute from a brilliant Van Persie corner witch found Danny Welbeck at the near post. Welbeck’s header flew past goalkeeper Michael Theo and found the top left corner.

To finish off a fantastic night Van Persie slotted a rightfoot shot that skipped under the goalkeeper Theo’s right arm.

After three minutes of extra time the score was 5-1 and Manchester United had won in convincing fashion.
