After securing his long-term A-League future with a new three-year deal, Perth Glory goalkeeper Danny Vukovic wants to start a family.

Vukovic hopes to remain with the Glory until at least 2017 after re-signing for a further three years on top of the one year still remaining on his contract.

The 28-year-old hasn’t missed a game since linking up with Glory two years ago, and said he was excited about the club’s potential under new coach Alistair Edwards.

But his aim to start a family with his wife also played a role in his decision to stay in Perth.

“I think I’ve come to a point in my a career where I needed some security,” Vukovic said.

“I just recently got married and we want to start a family, so that was a major factor.

“They say with goalkeepers that the peak time is in the early to mid-30s and I haven’t reached that yet, so hopefully I can improve, keep doing my best for Perth Glory and win a championship in the next few years.

“It’s a great club and I feel lucky to be part of it.

“Hopefully me signing this long-term deal will show people exactly how much I love the club.”
