Welcome to the week eight edition of our picks and predictions. We’re fired up after a shockingly bad effort last week, where we tipped a season-low six winners. This week is our redemption.

Last week: 6-9

Overall: 66-38

Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
This is a game the Buccaneers can and should win, Darrelle Revis will play too smart for Cam Newton.

However, I’m liking the Panthers play calling, which finally is putting Cam and DeAngelo Williams in the position to succeed. The Panthers to sneak one away from home, because the Buccaneers don’t have an offense.

First touchdown: Ted Ginn

Final score: 20 -16 Panthers

San Francisco 49ers at Jacksonville Jaguars
Well the Jaguars played better than expected against the Broncos. They still finished last though. This week will look similar to that, Frank Gore will seal the deal for the niners.

First touchdown: Vernon Davis

Final score: 27 -17 49ers

Cleveland Browns at Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs improve to 8-0 at home, against a Jason Campbell-led Browns squad. Jamaal Charles does enough to get it done, while the Browns falter on offense against a great defence.

First touchdown: Jamaal Charles

Final score: 24 – 16 Chiefs

Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots
Bill Belichik and the New England Patriots will be fired up about their recent controversial loss to heated rivals in the Jets, and they will put on a clinic at home. Tom Brady has the performance of the season.

First touchdown: Julian Edelman

Final score: 43 – 14 Patriots

Buffalo Bills at New Orleans Saints
EJ Manuel is down, but the Bills have been playing out of their skin without him. As detailed in our assessment of the Bills, we noted that they have been beaten by a maximum of 13 points, but when Sunday rolls around that will change. Drew Brees and the Saints will win in the Superdome in a competitive game.

First touchdown: Jimmy Graham

Final score: 34 – 17 Saints

Dallas Cowboys at Detroit Lions
A surefire shootout will see Dez Bryant fail to match the production of the man he says he is just as good as, Calvin Johnson.

Matt Stafford and Reggie Bush to roll the Dallas defence. Also, how can DeMarco Murray play well for a team who have publicly expressed their desire to move on from him as soon as possible?

First touchdown: Calvin Johnson

Final score: 35 – 27 Lions

New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles
The New York Giants are a terrible football team. Watching them beat the Vikings was upsetting.

They were beaten in New York by this team, now they travel to Philly. If Michael Vick is at full speed, the Eagles will destroy them.

First touchdown: Michael Vick

Final score: 33 – 13 Eagles

Pittsburgh Steelers at Oakland Raiders
Maybe I’m angry that the Steelers beat my Ravens last week, but I think the Raiders can win this.

It’s hard to think that the Steelers who started 0-4 can win three straight, so Terrell Pryor and Darren McFadden will have a great day running the ball to a win.

First touchdown: Darren McFadden

Final score: 23 – 17 Raiders

New York Jets at Cincinnati Bengals
The Jets are still in celebration mode from their exciting win last week, and the Bengals are hungry for more after a big win in Detroit.

Andy Dalton continues playing hot, and Giovani Bernrd joins the party catching the ball out of the backfield.

First touchdown: A.J. Green

Final score: 24 – 16 Bengals

Atlanta Falcons at Arizona Cardinals
The Falcons scrapped pass the winless Buccaneers last week. The Cardinals have a much better defence though, and the Falcons don’t have the weapons anymore.

First touchdown: Larry Fitzgerald

Final score: 24 – 20 Cardinals

Washington Redskins at Denver Broncos
The Broncos won’t lose consecutive games this year, and at home they’ll destroy the Redskin defence. Oh God, the thought of it…

First touchdown: Demaryius Thomas

Final score: 45 – 28 Broncos

Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings defence can’t stop anyone, so by default the Packers win. Adrian Peterson is due to break out sometime soon though, beware.

Final score: 24 – 14 Packers

Seattle Seahawks at St Louis Rams
Them Rams are in such a state that they have, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, contacted the retired 44-year-old Brett Favre to come in and replace Sam Bradford.

Rookie Tavon Austin is being used so wrongly, it’s frustrating to watch. The defence is under-performing. The Seahawks will dominate.

First touchdown: Marshawn Lynch

Final score: 30 – 9 Seahawks
