The Western Sydney Wanderers travel across the Tasman to take on struggling Wellington Phoenix, who are looking for their first win of the season. Join us for live scores and commentary from Westpac Stadium at 3.00pm AEDT.

Both sides go into this fixture on the back of defeats.

Western Sydney suffered their first loss of the season and were well-beaten by Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium last Friday night.

The Phoenix on the other hand could probably count themselves unlucky.

With a host of players returning from All Whites duty, Ernie Merrick’s men fought back from a goal down to snatch an equaliser in the last minute of regular time, only to see Ranko Despotovic restore Sydney’s lead deep into stoppage time.

They last played each other on October 20 in Round 2, which landed the Phoenix a famous draw at Wanderland.

Head to head these sides have played four times, with one draw, one victory to the Phoenix and two wins for the Wanderers.

Their won’t be much changes to the sides. Yousseff Hersi will again miss while Shinji Ono and Tomi Juric are both still expected to be sidelined.

The Phoenix will be without Jeremy Brockie due to injury, while Reece Caira has been rested.

For Merrick, the key question will be around who comes in for Brockie. Paul Ifill and Kenny Cunningham, who netted last week, shape as the two preferred options although both could potentially come in if Merrick decides to axe Stein Huysegems who has failed to fire in recent matches.

Prediction
Going for a shock 1-0 win for the home side. With Ono, Juric and Hersi all out for the Wanderers, this could be the Phoenix’s best chance yet to secure that elusive first season win.
