That’s right, the player who has been in the best form of his career and arguable Australia’s most valuable player this summer needs to be dropped.

Before you get carried away I’m not talking about axing him from the Test team. I’m talking about the limited over stuff.

Surely our whole thought process should be geared towards the 2015 world cup and there are no guarantees Haddin will be playing in a years time. Remember he is 36 years old.

I personally would give Matthew Wade another crack at it even though he hasn’t exactly had great success in ODI’s or the T20 stuff.

There’s no doubt he is a very talented batsman. His keeping might not be at a test standard just yet, but I do think its more than adequate for the shorter forms of the game.

Plus its a great opportunity for his keeping to improve so he can be ready to take back his spot in the test side once Brad Haddin retires which due to his age can’t be that far away.

Besides this change our ODI squad is impressive. It’s extremely well balanced with Watson and Maxwell contributing as the 5th and 6th bowling options.

I was a little surpassed with the inclusion of James Pattinson though as he doesn’t have a great record as a limited overs bowler.

I’d like to see Dougie Bollinger in the squad as he has a fantastic one day record and he seems to be back to his best.

All in all though the Aussies are in a great position to win the 2015 World Cup on home soil.

With regard to the international T20 team I don’t want it to include any of the test players. We don’t need to be risking our test stars in the hit and giggle format.

And to be honest I think they would be easily replaced without the team losing too much as we have some of the best 20/20 players in the world.

For instance we could replace Warner, Watson, Haddin and Johnson with Shaun Marsh, Mitch Marsh, Matthew Wade and Nathan Coulter-Nile (Or Mitchell Starc if he isn’t playing Tests) and that would still be a super side.

This is roughly how my Australian T20 team would look like:

Shaun Marsh
Aaron Finch
Nick Maddinson/Cameron White
Adam Voges/Moises Henriques
Mitch Marsh
Matthew Wade
Glenn Maxwell
James Faulkner
Clint Mckay
Xavier Doherty
Mitchell Starc/Nathan Coulter-Nile

The numbers 3 and 4 were difficult as there are a few different options you could do. I’d like to add Henriques to add some bowling depth but it could weaken the batting. Also if Cameron White continues his good form his leadership would be very valuable.

I believe this team would be hard to beat. What do you guys think?
