JackJumpers' NBL title was special - but where does it sit among Tasmania’s top ten sporting moments?
It’s a pretty good time to be a Tasmanian sports fan right now. After years in the sporting wilderness with not much to celebrate,…
Here is a look at all of the major transactions that took place on day two of Free Agency.
DeMarcus Ware signs with Denver:
In yet another bold manoeuvre by John Elway, the Broncos signed the all-pro-pass rusher to a three-year deal worth $30 Million with $20 Million guaranteed. This, along with the signings of Talib and Ward, make the Denver defence a stout unit.
Darrelle Revis sings with the Patriots:
New England was the winner in the Revis sweepstakes as they secured the shutdown cornerback on a one-year, $12 million contract. After losing Talib yesterday, the Patriots replace him with the best in the business.
Golden Tate signs with the Lions:
Tate and the Lions agreed on a five year $31 Million deal with $13.25 Million guaranteed. This gives the Lions a legitimate threat at wide receiver opposite Calvin Johnson.
Jacoby Jones signs with Baltimore:
In an unexpected move, the Ravens have re-signed Jones after spending the past two seasons in Baltimore. It was expected that the Ravens would move on from Jones but they decided to bring him back. The lightening rod on special teams will be wearing purple again this season.
Josh McCown signs with Tampa:
The Buccaneers bring in McCown on a two year $10-million deal and give him a chance to win the starting job over Mike Glennon.
A veteran presence with a solid arm and a good quarterback acumen, McCown could be a difference-maker in Tampa.
Corey Graham signs with Bills:
The Buffalo Bills get a quality cornerback and special teams player in Graham.
The former Raven was a crucial cog on Baltimore’s Superbowl run and is a plug and play corner. The Bills add depth to an already talented secondary.
