Tonight the 12th placed Rebels take on the table-topping Sharks at AAMI Stadium. Join us for live scores from 7.40pm (AEST).

The Rebels don’t enjoy playing the Sharks. They’ve met twice before, and the Sharks put a collective 100 points on them. This year is a little different for the Rebels. Somewhat curiously, they boast the best tackle percentage rate in the comp.

Equally interesting, the Sharks have the worst tackle percentage rate this year – yet they’re still on top of the log. So how do the they stay on top?

It’s so simple. They’ve figured out they’re rubbish at defending, so they keep the ball. No team this year has made fewer tackles; in fact the Sharks have made about half as many as the rest of the field. This is what coaches get paid big money for – getting lemons and making lemonade.

The Rebels? They have a solid three wins from four home games and are fresh off a great win against the rampaging Force. This is an eccentric team that has shown more substance this year than in previous seasons, with an almost-serious edge developing. They are third highest for defenders beaten, after the insane Hurricanes and second-placed Chiefs.

While they have a strong home record this year, the Sharks have a 50-per-cent record in their away games, and won’t be looking forward to their long and winding road into Australasia. It’s always tough on tour, so look for an upset.

Join us at 7.40pm AEST on The Roar.
