The North Harbour Rays take on Brisbane City in Round 8 of the National Rugby Championship. Join The Roar from 7.35pm (AEDT) for live scores and coverage.

This competition has a habit of delivering exciting footy. Some blistering attack, combined with occasionally ordinary defence, has resulted in some pretty large scores.

The scores would be larger if the coaches put more emphasis on kicking.

To date the excessively generous three points on offer for a successful conversion have generally been shunned in preference for slices, hooks and stabs.

Indeed the shots for goal have been ordinary; although it must be said the fans aren’t baying for kickers these days.

Many will flock to Brookvale Oval tonight to see Quade Cooper. And why not?

Having Quade back in the mix is pure tonic. He stayed largely in second gear against the Greater Sydney Rams last week and will be looking to shift up a couple tonight.

Watch out for Nick Frisby and Chris Kuridrani also.

Both teams are within reach of the top of the NRC table; City is 5th and the Rays 7th on the ladder.

A win to the latter and they could make it to third place. It’s a tight run.

If recent history is anything to go by, we can expect something between a netball and an AFL score.

Join us at 7.35pm tonight on The Roar, the place to be for live scores and where you can have your say on the go.
