Mal Meninga will remain at the helm of Queensland for at least another three years after announcing a new deal with the Maroons on Tuesday afternoon.

The announcement was made at the official unveiling of Queensland’s team for the 2015 State of Origin opener, to be held at ANZ Stadium on Wednesday, May 27.

A three-year extension will see Meninga lead Queensland until the end of the 2018 Origin series.

Speculation had been rife that Meninga was potentially in line to replace Tim Sheens as coach of the Kangaroos, however such theories will now be put to bed for at least another few years.
