The Carlton Blues are aiming for two wins in a row when they tackle the Gold Coast Suns in a match that could decide the wooden spoon at the end of the season. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 3:10pm (AEST).

These are two of the more disappointing sides for season 2015.

The Blues finally made the decision to rebuild and parted company with Mick Malthouse. It will now take time and at least two drafts to rejig their list.

A terrific win against Port last week was the result of a team unshackled under interim coach John Barker, and intent on applying pressure on the opposition through tackles and physicality. Can they maintain this aggression against the Suns?

They will be without Bryce Gibbs this week after he was suspended for an illegal tackle, which caused widespread debate but once the result was a concussion for opposing player Robbie Gray, a suspension had to apply. This way the AFL is seen to be proactively protecting the player’s welfare.

The Suns play their 100th AFL game this Sunday. Many believed they were on the right track in their development until halfway through last year, when star player Gary Ablett was seriously injured. This year Ablett’s absence has accentuated their massive injury list, adding up to an extremely disappointing year.

They have at no stage have had their best side on the ground this year, and there will be no finals – who would have thought they may be beaten to their first finals appearance by Greater Western Sydney.

The corresponding game last year at Etihad saw the Blues win by 39 points.

Prediction
The Blues by 39 points. No change to last year’s result.

Will the Blues add to last week’s win or will the Suns rise up and celebrate their 100th game of AFL with victory? Join The Roar from 3:10pm (AEST) for score updates and debate in our live blog.
