Both Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke City will be searching for their first English Premier League win of 2015-16 when they lock horns at White Hart Lane. Join The Roar from 12 midnight (AEST) for live scores.

Tottenham’s Premier League campaign got off to a shaky start with a 1-nil loss at the hands of Manchester United, as a Kyle Walker own goal in the first half sealed the win for the Red Devils.

Despite the negative start, Spurs have plenty to look forward to, with Harry Kane set to make his 50th Premier League appearance. The young superstar has scored 24 goals in his 49 Premier League games for Tottenham.

It has been reported that Spurs and Lyon have agreed on a fee on striker Clinton Nije, and with Mousa Dembele eager to show his worth, manager Mauricio Pochettino has options up front.

“There is a good atmosphere in the team and I want to be part of that and prove that I can be important for this club,” Dembele said on the club’s website.

“This season I want to be successful personally and with the team, which is most important.

“I want to score goals and make goals.”

Stoke City are coming off a 1-nil loss of their own, a late strike via Philippe Coutinho sealing the win for Liverpool in Stoke last week.

Despite the loss, Stoke continue to evolve under Mark Hughes, with the club-record signing of Inter Milan winger Xherdan Shaqiri on a five-year contract giving Potters fans reason to rejoice.

Shaqiri, along with signings Ibrahim Afellay, Moha El Ouriachi and José Luis Sanmartín Mato, make Stoke City one of the most exciting clubs in the Premier League, and they will be chasing a top-six finish.

The Potters had positive results over Spurs last season, winning both their fixtures. The last time the two faced off was in May at Britannia Stadium, as the Potters dismantled a nervy Spurs 3-nil.

Prediction
Tottenham Hotspur 1 – 1 Stoke City
